The biggest descents ask a lot from your equipment. You’ll need tenacious edge hold and dependable stability for billy goating through no-fall zones while maintaining enough float to surf high-speed turns through creamy pow and perfect corn. The Locator 96 covers all these bases, which is no small feat. The 96 mm waist quickly gets up on edge and bites hard on even the iciest sidehills, all at a weight that’s low enough for the biggest objectives on your tick list. The blended rocker lines make the 96 a versatile, confident performer in a variety of conditions from meadow skipping in hero snow to traversing refrozen sastrugi in the high peaks.

FEATURES

  • EST FREERIDE ROCKER - Fore body rocker and extra tip-taper combine to create EST. Great for optimized float in the soft stuff. Positive camber under foot with no tail rocker ensures these skis stay on rails when carving is the priority.
  • CARUBA CORE - Armada's lightest weight core material, Caruba delivers premium performance characteristics without the weight penalty. With snappy, resilient ride qualities and versatile construction characteristics, it’s ideal for a wide range of uses. Caruba is also our most sustainable core material, regrowing in a fraction of the time poplar and ash wood does.
  • AR75 SIDEWALL - Sidewall on 75% of the ski to allow for weight savings in the tip and tail while maintaining ridgitiy and edge hold.
  • 1.7 LIGHTWEIGHT EDGE - Light and strong, these heat-treated edges affect the feel of the ski minimally to ensure a snappy, lightweight feel.
  • COMP SERIES BASE - Sintered UHMW polyethylene with added carbon aids in speed and durability on snow.
  • TI BINDING DAMPENER - Below the binding, a sandwich of rubber, Titanal and finally more rubber work to dampen vibration that otherwise chatters into your boots and shortens your day. Ski bell-to- bell with extra damping provided.
  • CARBON REINFORCEMENT - Carbon application to provide excellent energy rebound.
  • AR BAT TAIL SELF CENTER TAIL CLIP DESIGN - Modern surf inspired tail shape allows skin clips to self center, making it impossible for a skin to slip off.
